AI 5000 Initiative Workshop
Date: 26/01/2026
On 17 January 2026, about 50 students from F.2 to F.6 enthusiastically took part in an 8‑hour Preface × Melo AI 5000 Initiative Workshop, organized by the Melo Foundation and anchored by Preface and the Peterson Group.
The day kicked off with an inspiring sharing session by Mr. Tony YEUNG, CEO of the Peterson Group. His insights on the future of AI and innovation set the tone for an exciting and forward‑thinking workshop.
Following the talk, students dived into design thinking, exploring how to identify real problems and create meaningful solutions. In the afternoon, they shifted gears and ventured into hands‑on AI applications. Students learned to use platforms such as Perplexity, Poe, DeepSeek, and Lovelace to develop their own learning‑focused web apps. They also used Gamma to craft sleek and dynamic presentations.
The atmosphere buzzed with creativity and curiosity as students collaborated, experimented, and brought their ideas to life. Their final presentations were not only technically impressive but also highly engaging—showcasing originality, teamwork, and a strong grasp of AI‑assisted creation.
Students reported that they thoroughly enjoyed the workshop, gained valuable skills, and felt inspired by the possibilities of AI. It was truly a day where imagination met innovation.
