Introduction

Every morning will soon turn into evening, and springtime will soon turn into fall. Every memory must fade, like a passing parade. And youth become a time you just recall...’.   Singing and music performing have been giving students a good medium to express themselves, especially for those who feel less confident in using language, in the music lessons and music extra-curricula activities.

The Curriculum

Aiming at developing students’ ‘creativity and imagination’, ‘music skills and processes’, ‘critical responses in music’ and the understanding of music in context’, the music curriculum is designed with integrated music activities for form 1 to form 3 students.  For junior forms, the music syllabus is tailored to offer students activities to experience creating, performing and appraising music.  For senior forms, in addition to the integrated activities, students are given the opportunity to carry out a mini research project on assigned music topics after which they will give presentations in the music lessons.  In form 6, students are requested to prepare and give a ‘farewell performance’ as a final year project.

Extra-curricular Activities

Extra-curricular activities play a vital role in catering for the diverse abilities of different students with different musical talents.  Different music groups are organized.  Regular practices and performances are scheduled and held.  They include the school orchestra, school choir, ensemble groups, music instrumental classes and music club.
